This amazing event I created over 75 custom designed Muppet gift baskets for auction. Featuring one of kind autographed, and collectible memorabilia from the private collection of Steve Whitmire, one of the main Muppet performers and primary puppeteer of Kermit the Frog for 26 years. I was honored to just work with some the amazing pieces like original costumes from the Great Muppet Caper, leather satchels and doodle books from Jim Henson, and one of kind collectible plush dolls giving only to cast members. The gala, which raises more than $200,000 annually, benefits the Center for Puppetry Arts programs such as Field Trip Sponsorships, which provides approximately 70,000 deeply discounted and free admissions for children. This is one of Atlanta’s most charitable residents and all are encouraged to support this worth cause that sparks the next generation’s love for the arts. This year’s event, was themed Fairy Tales Do Come True,  black-tie optional and included a cocktail hour and seated dinner. Individual tickets $200; tables for 10, include special recognition, and are available for $2,500. Attendees were treated to puppet improv by Hold the Foam Players, with live and silent auctions rounding out the evening’s activities. Hopefully some of the money raised from this auction will be used in building the new Henson wing at the Atlanta Center for Puppetry Arts.
